Large ceremonial Japanese textile banner, likely dating to the late Meiji or Taisho period, c. 1890-1925. Embroidered silk and thread on textile depicting a dragon amid clouds. The upper register features a pair of confronting shishi (guardian lions) flanking a central auspicious emblem, with vertical and horizontal kanji inscriptions. Backed by indigo blue textile.
