Made of antique Chinese and/or Vietnamese minted brass coins held together with cotton twine. The feet, hands, and face are carved from wood with leather ornaments secured to the torso and head. The leather and wood pieces are painted gold and attached to the coins with twine. These dolls were made to ensure that the body and inner organs of a deceased person would be together in the correct formation when reincarnated, and later they were given as wedding gifts to ensure prosperity and wealth upon the recipients.
