A novelty alligator head purse made by the Ideal Leather Goods Company. During their operations in the mid 20th-century, Ideal Leather specialized in novelty purses often using genuine alligator, crocodile, lizard, snake, and even armadillo skin. Head purses were a signature of the brand and were heavily marketed to tourists in Florida, Cuba, and New Orleans. This bag is stamped "IDEAL / Genuine Alligator / Made in Cuba."
