Harry Truman signed photographs and letters belonging to Mr. Charles M. Irelan. In 1951 Mr. Irelan came to Washington DC to serve as Legal Advisor to President Harry Truman in the White House. Later that year he was appointed by the President to be United States Attorney for the District of Columbia which he served until 1953. Included in this lot are four (4) letters written to Mr. Irelan from then President Harry Truman ranging from 1951-1952. Letters are all signed by President Truman and are written on The White House Stationary and come with the The White House envelopes and original postage. Also included are three (3) letters of correspondence between Mr. Irelan and Harry Truman after he was President. These letters come on "Harry S. Truman, Federal Reserve Bank Building, Kansas City 6, Missouri" letterhead and include not only the original envelope which they were sent in but also included is a copy of the letter from Mr. Irelan to Harry Truman which Mr. Truman is responding to. Each of these three letters also bears a signature from Harry Truman. Lastly, two (2) signed Harry Truman photographs are included.
