A very fine silhouette portrait of a young French woman, Charlotte Lelievre, done at the Chapel des Dames on 15 August, 1846. The silhouette has added details including hair curls, and a very intricate lace collar. It is in a very fine rectangular gutta percha or thermoplastic frame, On the back is a label identifying the young woman, location, and date.It is interesting to see a gutta percha frame on a silhouette rather than a photograph. Size: 4 3/8 by 3 7/8 inches.
