This is an Italian printing from Rome, 1802, of a set compiled by the National Geographical Society of France and Other Nations.There are ten books total, including a separately bound index, all bound in calf, including several maps per volume, each done on parchment, as well as many charts, containing what was then current knowledge of the world, including population as well as other statistics. There is a wonderful pre-Louisiana Purchase map including, "Luigiana" as a separate territory, as well as maps of Africa, Asia, the nations of Europe, and more.
