Group of Three (3) Santa Clara Blackware Pottery: One Cresencia Tafoya (1918-1999) Vase

The Cresencia Tafoya vase is signed “Cresencia Sta. Clara Pueblo” and is GD/VG condition. Cresencia Tafoya was a renowned Native American potter from the Santa Clara Pueblo in New Mexico. She was well known for her highly polished and tightly painted black on black pottery. Famous for miniature and small pottery items adorned with rain and feather designs. She earned numerous awards throughout her career and actively participated in the Santa Fe Indian market from 1978 to 1989. The second Blackware vase with repeating pattern is in good condition with little wear and signed “Marie” on its base. The wedding vase is unsigned and in fair condition with a 2” crack upper edge.

Dimensions. Wedding vase is 11” high. Jar signed ‘Marie’ is 5.75” x. 3.75.” Cresencia Tafoya vase is 3.25” x 4.25”
