Extremely rare German WWII Kriegsmarine U-Boat compass in a solid brass housing by Anshutz & Co. This is an electronic repeater compass that was made to be mounted inside a U-Boat on a vertical bulkhead. It is quite heavy and sturdily built, as it would need to be to withstand the rigors of U-Boat service. It has two plates attached to the sides, one with a Third Reich Naval Eagle over a large "M." with the serial number1987. Thr other is the manufacturer's plate with "Anshutz & Co.S 2051 No. 875 Wandtochterkompass E Kompassanlage." Size: 11 inches tall when vertical by 5 1/2 inches deep. Processing and shipping in the Continental United States is $45.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. Very good with minor wear and some of the chrome missing from the fittings.
