A round enamel painting of the Virgin Mary holding the baby Jesus, with a young John the Baptist standing at her left elbow. This is superbly done on a round enamel plaque, probably in Germany. It has amazing detail to the decoration of the cloth, particularly on the Virgin's clothing, and the colors are vibrant. The painting is in a gilt frame that is extremely ornate. Size: 7 1/2 inches across in all dimensions. The enamel plaque itself is 4 inches across. Provenance: Estate of General Joseph McNarney.
