A very interesting set of the ledger and samples case of George Wissman, an early Sacramento liquor salesman. The ledger is an astonishing primary source, as he was the most significant salesman of liquors and spirits in the greater Sacramento area during his time period, and sold to virtually every brothel and bar in the region! The entries note the quantities and types of various alcoholic beverages sold to whom, which could give some fascinating insights to area residents and their habits, as well as their social status.
Dimensions: case: 13"l x 8"w x 5"h, ledger: 11"l x 9"w x 6"h.
Processing and shipping within the continental U.S. $55.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance.
Condition
The leather on the outside of the case is quite worn, however, the contents are excellent. The ledger is in overall excellent condition, and Wissman's handwriting is meticulous.
