Handsome ceramic sculpture of a dwarf moving a full-sized Greek helmet. This was apparenly made about 1910 by Wilhelm Schiller & Sohn of Bodenbach, Bohemia. The upturned helmet could be used as a planter or for other uses. He is beautifully painted with the helmet a shade of French blue, and the dwarf painted in brown and tan. The helmet has a feather or horsehair crest. It is on a base of twining branches and pale yellow painted ground. There is a maker's mark stamped into the underside: WS&S over 270.
Size: 10 1/2 inches tall and 12 inches long by 7 inches wide.
