A Danish Hand Grenade, Model 11923, modified as a practice grenade, with no fuse nor charge. This grenade model was extensively used by German forces during WWII following the German occupation of Denmark. In Denmark this was called the "Haandbombe Model 1923," while the Germans referred to it as "Handgranate 343d." These were extremely effective, and in one form or another remained in production until after WWII. This grenade is painted a dark grey, with the black number 23 on it.
