A Civil War discharge for Private William Grim of Company K of the 133rd Indiana Volunteer Infantry, a 100 Day regiment mustered on May 17, 1864 that served as railway protection in Tennessee and Alabama during Sherman's March to the Sea. They were mustered out in August, 1864, having served beyond their stated 100 days. William Grim was from Clay County, Indiana. The discharge was folded as carried by the veteran, and is handsomely matted with a wooden frame. Size: 14 3/4 by 12 1/2 by 3/4 inches. Provenance: Estate of General Joseph McNarney. Processing and shipping in the Continental United States is $45.00 plus 1.5% replacement cost insurance. The handwriting on the discharge is faded, but still largely visible. The frame is excellent.
