Very fine and very old Chinese Quanyin statue in boxwood, apparently carved from single piece of wood. The statue has wonderful detail, showing Quanyin raising her hand in blessing, with the sceptre of Heaven resting in her other arm. She is wearing gracefully carved robes, and her hair is intricately carved. There are traces of gold paint on her robes.Size: 22 3/4 inches tall and 7 1/2 inches wide at the base. Very good, but her right hand has two missing fingers.
