Exceptionally nice carved wooden statue of an old man, possibly the god Louxing, the Chinese god of longevity. The carving is exceptional and very detailed, with a child crouching at the god's feet, and the god holding a branch with dangling fruits, which could represent the fruits of wisdom gained through a long life. The statue is carved out of reddish wood, possibly mahogany. Size: 24 inches tall. Excellent condition.
