Pre World War II US Marine Corps officer's hat named to Major AQM, Ray O'Toole. Size 7 3/8. Several scans of pictures of him are included in the lot. O'Toole was a career Marine, enlisted in 1915. He had WW1 era service in Mexico and the Dominican Republic. He shot expert in 1919, 1923, and 1925. He was a true China Marine in the 1930s. He defended Soochow Creek in 1932 when hostilities broke out in Shanghai between the Japanese and Chinese. Soochow Creek was the boarder of the city's international settlement. After this, his service becomes unclear.
This lot may be picked up free of charge from our facilities in Sacramento, CA. Processing and shipping within the Continental US $45.00.
