He is dressed in full regalia, including a feather warbonnet, beaded shirt with fringe, and traditional pants & moccasins, and holds a rifle in his right hand. It is signed "Kauba" on the front, bottom right side of the base and mounted on a green marble plinth.Kauba's bronzes, produced in Austria for the Viennese Art Trade, became widely collected Western-themed works of the early 20th-century. Although the artist never traveled to the United States, he was inspired by American subjects and drew from frontier accounts, photographs, and period imaginings of Native American life.Dimensions: (overall) 21H x 11W x 10D inchesThis lot may be picked up free of charge from our facilities in Sacramento, CA.
