Original Albumen cabinet card photograph depicting the prize fight between Corbett and Fitzsimmons held in Carson City, Nevada on March 17, 1897. Stamped in red "Peter Bacigalupi, 946 Market. St. on front and verso. The Corbett vs. Fitzsimmons championship fight is considered one of the landmark sporting events of the 19th century and was the first fight to be recorded on video, producing what was at the time the longest motion picture ever made. It is one of, if not the, defining sports event in Nevada boxing history. Fitsimmons won by knockout in the 14th round, taking the World Heavyweight Championship belt from Gentleman him Corbett.

Condition

Good. Wear conistent with age. Image remains clear with very little loss. Some scattered thumbprints and stains across image front and verso.
