Late 19th to early 20th century wood child-size coffin or funeral display casket, of traditional tapered form with hinged lid opening to a fabric shroud inside. Finished in black paint and fitted with decorative white-metal handles and escutcheons. The fold down part of the lid has an engraved metal memorial plaque reading “Our Darling”.  This is a great piece for collectors of mortuary antiques and Victorian mourning objects.

Has surface scratches, abrasions, paint loss, edge wear, scuffs, and scattered losses throughout. Metal plaque, handles, and mounts show oxidation, tarnish, and wear consistent with age. Interior fabric deteriorated with staining and fraying. Please see photos.
