Silveira operated her jewelry and watch business on San Francisco’s Jackson Street during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, in the heart of the city’s commercial waterfront district. This area was home to many of the city’s watchmakers and jewelers, and Silveira’s shop offered imported Swiss and fine American timepieces. Watches signed with her name remain scarce, valued today both as collectible timekeepers and as artifacts of San Francisco’s horological trade.The case is crafted in gold-filled metal, guaranteed 25 years by the Philadelphia Watch Case Co., serial number 7229452. It features richly chased multicolor floral and scroll decoration with green and pink gold highlights, central cartouche, 16 size.The movement is a stem-wind, lever-set nickel-finished movement with damascened plates, safety pinion, and decorative bridge engraving, serial number 7135831. Marked 17 Jewels and Adjusted, likely manufactured by the Elgin National Watch Company.The dial is a fancy enamel with black Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds dial at 6, and gold decorative flourishes, with blued spade hands.
