Cast of plaster from the original authorized mold, with slight colorization to highlight features, eyelashes, and bullet hole pronounced, exit wounds as well, back is marked John Dillinger, fitted with copper wire hanger on back for hanging.

Provenance: Owner statement - "This death mask was cast from the mold made by (Harold May) or Jerome Nachtman of the Reliance Dental Supply Company. He also sent a lesser detailed copy to J. Edgar Hoover in an attempt to demonstrate the quality, and utility of his mold making compound he had developed. This original was later given to Joe Pinkston. My father acquired this mask from Pinkston before his passing in 1996. He was sick and wanted my father to have it."
