These sickle swords derive from throwing-knives, but are larger and only have a vestigial extension instead of the second or third extension of the true throwing-knife. They have a wide variety of forms and come from the northeast Congo, found among the Bandia, Benge, Mongelima, Nzakara, Zande, Boa and Mangbetu. There is no consensus as to which form can be associated (if at all) with a particular group.
