The obverse depicts a gilt eagle above shield and fasces with the motto “ARRIBA ESPAÑA – UNA GRANDE LIBRE IMPERIAL,” while the reverse shows a seated lion before a radiant sun, with the date “17 JULIO 1936” commemorating the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War.
