Small enameled cross badge with black arms bordered in white, surmounted by an applied gilt double-headed eagle with crown, the lower arm inscribed “1914/15.†The reverse is plain with a long horizontal pin-back. This type of badge was issued in the Austro-Hungarian Empire during the First World War as a patriotic commemorative emblem, worn on civilian or semi-official attire to demonstrate support for the war effort.
