Filled with illustrated plates by famed artists Thomas Hill, Julian Rix, Thomas Moran, Remington, and William Keith in both volumes. Volume 1 contains a particularly impressive illustrated plate by Thomas Moran of a view of Yosemite/Half-Dome from Glacier Point on its frontispiece.
